Begin your date on two wheels or two feet with a stroll or bike ride along the Madison Avenue connector trail, a paved streetside trail that runs north-south along Madison Avenue. Start by parking at Craig Park where you can use the park’s paved trail network to wind through mature trees and open spots to pause, talk, or simply enjoy the quiet rhythm of the day. You’ll pass by the baseball fields and then Surina Way, where a trail west takes you to the Greenwood Public Library and Old City Park behind it. Stop by the peruse the books and then continue over the creek and past the playground and the path take you to historic Main Street.  Take a left on the streetside connector trail and take in any local shops in Old Town that catch your eye before turning north on the Interurban Trail along Madison Avenue.

Here you’ll find one of Greenwood’s local breweries. Planetary Brewing Company is a casual, welcoming spot with a rotating tap list and frequent small-batch releases. If you’re in the mood for something beyond beer, they also craft house-made seltzers and offer a solid menu of pub-style eats. The laid-back setting is perfect for settling in and catching up without feeling rushed.

If you’d rather have something without the buzz, a few blocks north is the Sassafras Tea Room. Tucked into a charming old home, this spot is a favorite for its vintage decor, relaxed energy, and menu of elevated comfort food. Share a pot of tea or order your own, and don’t skip the scones or quiche if you’re starting mid-morning. The tearoom’s thoughtful atmosphere makes it feel like you’ve stepped into a slower, sweeter moment.

As the sun starts to dip, end your day at Vino Villa across the street right on the Interurban, a converted house turned wine bar and restaurant nestled under tall trees just south of downtown. Their patio is one of the loveliest places in Greenwood, especially in the evening light. Share a bottle or order by the glass and pair it with a charcuterie board or one of their pasta or seafood dishes. Inside, the warm lighting and wood accents make it equally welcoming if you prefer to be indoors.

When you’re done, work off those calories by heading back down the Interurban to Main Street, where you can use the access path sidewalk connection back to Old City Park and then on to Craig Park. If the weather’s nice, take a slow walk through the trees or enjoy a quiet conversation on a park bench. Greenwood offers an easy rhythm that fits a date where nothing is rushed and everything is shared. It’s a full day, but one that feels calm, connected, and completely yours.
