Race day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is electric. It is also, let’s be honest, a traffic endurance event. With more than 350,000 people converging on one place, getting in and out by car can feel like part of the race itself.

There’s a better way.

Skip the gridlock, glide past the lines, and arrive like a local who knows exactly what they’re doing. Indianapolis has 800 miles of connected trails, and on race day, they become your smartest advantage.

Plan Your Route

Before race day, take a few minutes to map your ride using The Trailways system. You can customize your route, estimate mileage, and identify access points closest to you.

A Few Smart Tips

  • Be patient leaving the track
  • Be prepared to walk your bike through crowded areas
  • Take a slightly longer route to avoid the heaviest traffic

The payoff is still worth it. While cars sit in gridlock, you will already be halfway home.

Skip the traffic. Ride the city. And turn race day into part of the adventure.
